Rules & Regulations

  1. Framing: All traditional art work must, must be framed in suitable material with screw eyes and wires in place. Pieces not suitably framed, dry and prepared properly for hanging may be excluded from the exhibit. All works on paper must be under glass or plexi. All sculpture must have structural integrity.
  2. Fees: GSAC requests a $30 donation per artist to participate. This donation will help pay for the public reception and marketing. Make checks or money orders payable to GSAC.
  3. Commissions: 30% of gross receipts go to GSAC. Artist commissions will be paid 30 days after the exhibit closes, unless previous arrangements are made.
  4. Inventory: Submit your entry form and an inventory list of the works you will exhibit. This list should include title, your name, medium and price. Then tape the i.d. tags (provided within this application) on the back of each piece of work, if hanging.
  5. The Work: Work must be current within the last two years and not have been shown in the GSAC gallery in previous exhibits.
  6. Category: The category of the artwork must follow guidelines. This exhibit is open to all works, 2 and 3 dimensional.
  7. Bio: Please include a short bio or business profile when submitting your art.
  8. Entries: Work will remain in the gallery until the exhibit ends. Exceptions are made for out of town patrons; work may be replaced in that instance.
  9. PLEASE: Follow the directions on the art exhibit entry forms. Please be courteous and punctual by meeting all deadlines.
  10. Artwork: Typically, delivery days fall on a Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick-up days are usually on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Call for dates for specific exhibitions.)
  11. Binwork: All work must be matted and shrink-wrapped. Physical size should not exceed 24" x 30". Price should not exceed $200. All work must be original. No offset prints are allowed.

You Should Know...

We have improved the gallery in a number of ways. The most important improvement is the new security system. Cameras and TV monitors observe the entrances and gallery 24/7. We also have more volunteers who oversee activity in the gallery. Your artwork will get exposure! During the event, the art is viewed by hundreds of attendees. Sales are brisk during the opening reception. Throughout the year, thousands of people, both locals and tourists, stop by to visit the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts.

Exhibit Understanding GSAC insurance does not cover exhibitor's work. Artists are responsible for carrying adequate insurance coverage for his/her work. Proof of insurance may be required. GSAC, its employees, or members are not responsible for any damaged or stolen artwork. GSAC reserves the right to photograph artwork for publicity, or historic purposes. All artists must sign this agreement.
